THE FORMATION EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

Teaching Approach and Class Methodology

  • FORMATION Class Methods: We place a special focus on the science behind mindful movement, integrating aspects of anatomy, sports medicine, and functional movement. It’s important that in each class, you as the instructor, intertwine the emphasis of how yoga benefits active lifestyles, enhances performance, aids in recovery, and ultimately makes our students better at their chosen activities.

  • Infuse Your Own Flair: We encourage you to bring your own personality and energy to each class. Your authenticity and individual teaching style are what make our classes unique and engaging.

  • Share Your Expertise: We’re always excited to hear your ideas for class formats, events, and ways to support the studio and our students. FORMATION Yoga. Strength. Wellness. is a space to grow, so let your knowledge and creativity shine.

Professionalism and Community Focus

  • Be Friendly and Inclusive: Your warmth and encouragement helps set the tone at FORMATION. Cultivate an environment where all feel welcome, supported, and valued.

  • Listen to Students: Tune in to the needs of each student, offering suggestions that can enhance their practice. This could include adjustments within class or even referrals to trusted partners in the community.

  • Promote the Studio: Share FORMATION’s upcoming classes and events with enthusiasm during and after your classes, and help spread the word beyond the studio walls to attract new faces to our community. Social media support is appreciated, as well! As an extra incentive, we offer a bonus of $1 per student for classes of 11 or more, with a cap.

Professional Appearance and Studio Responsibilities

  • Instructor Attire: Please wear solid colors in earthy or neutral tones to maintain our serene aesthetic. Avoid wearing bright colors and patterns, and please ensure your attire is clean, free from fraying or excessive wear, and aligned with our studio’s professional look.

  • Be Punctual and Community-Oriented: Arrive 15 minutes before class and stay for 15 minutes afterward. Use this time to help prepare the studio, engage with students, and assist with any necessary cleanup, fostering a positive, community-centered environment.

Thank you for being a vital part of our FORMATION team! Together, let’s make every class a memorable and uplifting experience.
